Sagicor Bank to host house-warming party for mortgage clients

THREE lucky Sagicor Bank mortgage clients have been specially selected to be treated to a house-warming party at their new homes, which were financed through the financial institution.

The first house-warming party is set for today at the Country Mist in Ocho Rios, St Ann for client, Sasha Hotchandani. Sagicor Bank will be covering all the costs for the celebrations.

A longstanding client of Sagicor Bank, Hotchandani said the process of getting a mortgage from Sagicor was a seamless one, which made the experience much less burdensome than she thought it would be.

“Given that I didn't need to go inside the branch and I was able to do everything electronically that made it a lot easier,” she said.

Having done her research on the mortgage application requirements at other financial institutions, Hotchandani said she was pleased with the convenience offered by Sagicor Bank. She also noted that her decision was also in part due to the good working relationship she had with the retail arm of the bank.

“I was truly heartened and surprised to learn that were throwing me a house-warming party”, said an elated Hotchandani. She added, “to be honest if Sagicor Bank hadn't approached us, we would not be having a party, but this is very thoughtful of them and we are appreciative of the gesture,” she said.

Sagicor Bank last year launched a mortgage financing promotion aimed at minimising the wait time for mortgage processing and offered a low interest rate of 7.5 per cent. The bank made a commitment to its clients that it would process mortgages in 45 days or less. To sweeten the deal, the bank also also included a three-month payment holiday, credit card with 20,000 bonus points and free credit report for mortgage clients.

According to Michael Willacy, vice-president – Retail, SME and Corporate Banking, Sagicor Bank, was underpinned by the bank's efforts to offer simple, easy and personal banking solutions to all clients. He said the promotion was launched to help clients to have a less stressful experience of purchasing their home; he noted that “at Sagicor Bank we hold our clients' hands every step of the way, ensuring we are always in their corner for every major life stage”.
